Job summary

Macclesfield College is seeking a Lecturer in Business to inspire and develop learners across a range of programmes. You will plan and deliver engaging teaching, assess student work, and ensure high standards in a well-resourced department.

You will teach 16–18 BTEC programmes and may deliver Higher National Diplomas, employing a variety of methods and materials to support learners’ progression and achievement.

Qualifications

  • Plan teaching, learning and assessment for college programmes.
  • Deliver teaching and learning to consistently good/outstanding standards.
  • Assess learners' work using awarding body criteria.
  • Comply with College QA procedures and audits.
  • Prepare teaching, learning and assessment materials for a range of courses.
  • Utilise a variety of learning and teaching methods.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 16-18 BTEC programmes and possibly Higher National Diplomas.

The Role

You will be joining a committed team of practitioners within a curriculum area that benefits from large student numbers. The team are committed and driven to ensure the best experiences are given to the learners through innovative teaching and learning in a well-resourced College

The post will involve the marketing, delivery and assessment of a range of courses across the Business provision. You will be required to teach 16-18 BTEC programmes and possibly Higher National Diplomas.

Main Duties for this role include
  • Plan teaching, learning and assessment for college programmes using the appropriate college format to ensure effective learning.
  • Deliver teaching and learning to at least a consistently good or outstanding standard to achieve high success rates.
  • Assess accurately learners work both formatively and summative against appropriate awarding body criteria to ensure learners achieve their qualifications.
  • Comply with all College quality assurance procedures as prescribed by the Deputy Principal to ensure the achievement of all internal and external audits.
  • Use all appropriate resources effectively to ensure that the learners’ experience results in positive learning outcomes and high professional standards.
  • Thoroughly prepare suitable teaching, learning and assessment materials for a range of courses/classes and make use of a variety and appropriate learning and teaching methods.
