Job summary

Aspire People is seeking qualified English Teachers for full-time, long-term teaching assignments across South Birmingham and Solihull, including Hall Green, Acocks Green, Shirley and surrounding areas. Placements typically run Monday to Friday with November 2026 start.

You will deliver English Language and Literature to KS3/KS4, support GCSE prep, plan and assess, manage classrooms and adapt for SEND/EAL. ECTs welcome; consistent timetable offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS
• Experience teaching English within a secondary school
• Strong subject knowledge across English Language and English Literature
• Confidence delivering the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
• Availability for full-time, five-day-per-week teaching
• Ability to undertake planning, marking and assessment
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
• Professional, adaptable and reliable approach

Responsibilities

• Deliver English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Support GCSE pupils with examination preparation, analytical writing and reading comprehension.
• Take responsibility for a full teaching timetable, typically Monday to Friday.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with departmental schemes of work.
• Mark, assess and monitor pupil progress.
• Establish positive classroom routines and manage behaviour effectively.
• Adapt lessons to support pupils with SEND and EAL requirements.
• Work collaboratively with teaching colleagues and school leadership.
