Job summary

Aspire People is seeking qualified English Teachers for full-time, long-term teaching assignments across South Birmingham and Solihull, including Hall Green, Acocks Green, Shirley and surrounding areas. Placements typically run Monday to Friday with November 2026 start.

You will deliver English Language and Literature to KS3/KS4, support GCSE prep, plan and assess, manage classrooms and adapt for SEND/EAL. ECTs welcome; consistent timetable offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS
• Experience teaching English within a secondary school
• Strong subject knowledge across English Language and English Literature
• Confidence delivering the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
• Availability for full-time, five-day-per-week teaching
• Ability to undertake planning, marking and assessment
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
• Professional, adaptable and reliable approach

Responsibilities

Aspire People is looking to connect with English specialists who are available five days per week and interested in consistent, longer-term teaching assignments across secondary schools in Hall Green, Acocks Green, Shirley, Solihull, Kings Heath, Moseley and surrounding areas.

We are particularly interested in teachers who want the stability of a full teaching timetable, the opportunity to build relationships with pupils and the chance to contribute to an established English department.

THE OPPORTUNITIES

We are building our network of qualified English Teachers for future full-time and longer-term secondary school assignments from November 2026 onwards.

Depending on the placement, responsibilities may include:
