Job summary

Company Shop Group in Darton, Barnsley seeks a Warehouse Shift Manager to lead the frozen warehouse team. You will manage daily operations, health & safety, quality and costs while driving continuous improvement and ensuring KPI targets are met in a busy freezer environment.

You will lead shift teams, plan staffing, monitor performance, and develop staff through coaching, with a focus on collaboration with other departments and ensuring robust compliance and training.

Qualifications

• Proven record of management in a large-scale operation.
• Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability.
• Experience with budgets and KPIs preferred.
• Line management experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe and efficient operation of freezer warehouse shifts.
• Manage daily activities, monitor KPIs and SLAs, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead shift teams, planning labour, deployment and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, hygiene, quality and environment standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and investigate non-conformances.
• Conduct briefings, 1:1s, development plans, recruitment and onboarding.
• Produce KPI reports and manage shift handovers.
• Support training and succession planning within the team.
