Job summary

Gi Group UK are recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader (Reach truck) in Peterborough for a freezer role. You will lead a team, coordinate labour, and ensure daily pick/dispatch and goods in/out activity is performed safely and accurately in a -15°C freezer environment.

The role offers an afternoon shift (Mon-Fri, 14:00-22:00, 37.5 hours) with a temp-to-perm opportunity after 3 months. Benefits include a weekly freezer bonus and paid overtime, with full training on SOPs and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven warehouse leadership experience in fast-paced environments.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety and safe systems of work.
• Confident communicator with ability to brief, coach and drive standards.
• Good attention to detail, numeracy and basic IT skills.
• Comfortable working in a cold/freezer environment.
• Valid MHE licences (D2 category) including Reach Truck, Counterbalance and PPT.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and supervise warehouse operatives to meet demand and targets.
• Plan and allocate labour and tasks to complete work on time.
• Run daily shift briefs covering workload and priorities.
• Support hands-on work on the warehouse floor when needed.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and safe food handling requirements.
• Promote hygiene and housekeeping standards and a clean working environment.
• Maintain and inspect warehouse equipment and MHE daily checks.
• Support stock takes and report/escalate issues as required.
