Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council's Street Scene Team is seeking an HGV Sweeper Driver in Aylesbury. You will perform front-line street cleansing and grounds maintenance to keep local areas clean and safe for residents.

The role is outdoors year-round, with 39 hours per week and shifts from 06:00 to 18:00 (alternatively 06:00–14:30 or 07:00–15:30). Full training is provided and a can-do attitude is valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of LGV driving experience.
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is required.
• Experience with mechanical sweeper driving is desirable.
• Experience of operating vehicle mounted cranes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Driving and operating mechanical sweepers.
• Vehicle inspections/checks and operator maintenance.
• Complying with health and safety policies and procedures.
• Use of specialist equipment.
• Sweeping and litter picking of designated areas of highway.
• Completing accurate paperwork and records.
• Other duties such as bin emptying, car park cleansing, and seasonal tasks.
