Job summary

Walsall Council is seeking enthusiastic Customer Service Advisors to join the Best Start Family Hubs, delivering a warm, professional frontline service to families, carers and professionals across Family Hub locations in Walsall. You will help with information, signposting and referrals to ensure the right support is accessible when needed.

The role is on-site, permanent, with a Grade 5 salary (£29,542–£32,046) and 37 hours per week.

• Experience in a customer-facing role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use digital systems and signposting.
• Good organisational skills and workload management.

Responsibilities

• Provide welcoming, professional service to customers at Family Hubs.
• Handle enquiries in person, by phone, and online.
• Offer information, advice and signposting to services and support available for children, young people and families.
• Support referrals and handovers to internal services and partner organisations.
• Promote self-service and digital access where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and service requests.
• Support community engagement, events and outreach sessions across Family Hub locations.
• Contribute to service improvements by identifying customer needs and sharing feedback with colleagues.
