Job summary

Fox Morris Group Ltd. is seeking an experienced Frontend Developer for a long-term contract with Met Office in Exeter. The role is hybrid, requiring one day per week in the office, and offers a daily rate in UK pounds.

You will work on modern digital services using Next.js, React, and TypeScript, collaborating with product, design and backend teams. Responsibilities include building accessible frontend solutions backed by internal APIs, participating in code reviews, and maintaining CI/CD

Qualifications

• :strong experience with React, Next.js and TypeScript
• We require experience developing and integrating with REST or internal APIs
• Experience working in Azure and/or AWS cloud environments
• Experience with responsive and accessible frontend development
• Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and user-centred development
• Experience with automated testing and debugging
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment
• Experience collaborating with product, design and backend development teams
• Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills
• Experience with PyGeoAPI is desirable
• Experience using Jira and Confluence is desirable
• Previous experience delivering digital services within Government or the wider public sector is desirable

We are recruiting for an experienced Frontend Developer to join the Met Office on a long-term contract based in Exeter. This is a hybrid role with one day per week in the office and a contract length of 6+ months ongoing, offering a rate of £550–£600 per day. This is an excellent opportunity to work on modern digital services in a mixed Azure and AWS cloud environment, alongside product, design and technical teams.
