Job summary

Fox Morris Group Ltd. is seeking an experienced Frontend Developer for a long-term contract with Met Office in Exeter. The role is hybrid, requiring one day per week in the office, and offers a daily rate in UK pounds.

You will work on modern digital services using Next.js, React, and TypeScript, collaborating with product, design and backend teams. Responsibilities include building accessible frontend solutions backed by internal APIs, participating in code reviews, and maintaining CI/CD

Qualifications

• :strong experience with React, Next.js and TypeScript
• We require experience developing and integrating with REST or internal APIs
• Experience working in Azure and/or AWS cloud environments
• Experience with responsive and accessible frontend development
• Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and user-centred development
• Experience with automated testing and debugging
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment
• Experience collaborating with product, design and backend development teams
• Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills
• Experience with PyGeoAPI is desirable
• Experience using Jira and Confluence is desirable
• Previous experience delivering digital services within Government or the wider public sector is desirable

Responsibilities

• :Develop responsive, accessible and high-quality applications using Next.js, React and TypeScript
• Build frontend user experiences backed by internal APIs and search indexes
• Work within a mixed Azure and AWS cloud environment
• Collaborate with UX/UI, product and technical teams to create intuitive user experiences
• Participate in code reviews, testing and debugging
• Maintain and enhance existing applications
• Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions
• Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to defining project requirements
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Develop and maintain automated testing
• Work within an Agile delivery environment
• Apply modern frontend development standards and best practices
