Job summary

The Manchester Deansgate Hotel, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a Front Office Supervisor on a fixed-term maternity cover. This full-time role leads the front desk team, manages check-in/check-out, and ensures a warm Manchester welcome for guests.

Experience in hotel front office and familiarity with Opera or similar PMS is essential, along with prior supervisory or team-leading experience. You will cover duty manager shifts, coach staff, handle guest requests, and promote IHG One

Please note, this is a fixed-term maternity cover position.

As a Front Office Supervisor (Full-Time), you can expect to carry out the following duties...

• Leading the team and managing daily operations - you'll oversee check-in and check-out, ensuring every guest receives a warm and authentic Manchester welcome. Experience in a hotel front office role (with Opera or similar PMS knowledge) is essential.
• Covering duty manager shifts - fully conversant with all hotel emergency procedures, you'll take responsibility when required to ensure the smooth and safe running of the hotel.
• Coaching and supporting the team - you'll guide, train and motivate the front office team to deliver service that goes above and beyond. Previous supervisory or team leader experience is ideal.
• Handling guest requests and challenges - you'll take ownership of escalated issues, using your problem-solving skills and confidence to turn challenges into positive experiences and memorable stays.
• Engaging with our guests - you'll create authentic, personal connections, sharing local knowledge and adapting your approach to different guest needs. Strong communication and people skills are key.
• Championing IHG One Rewards - you'll recognise and celebrate our loyal members, encourage new sign-ups, and inspire your team to do the same.
