Front of House Manager

Friends Place, Calcot, Reading

£28,875 + benefits

Permanent – Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Monday to Friday (may include some evenings and weekends)

Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, we have been supporting older people for over 100 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty.

We are searching for a Front of House Manager to work alongside the management team to ensure the smooth opening of our new home, Friends Place, in Calcot, Reading. Ourstate-of-the-artcare home will feature:

  • 66 luxury bedrooms with ensuite wet rooms.

Our modern facilities are designed to create a warm and homely environment where residents feel safe, valued, and supported. Friends Place will be a vibrant, welcoming community, providing exceptional residential, dementia, and respite care.

Are you an experienced administrator looking for the next exciting step in your career? Are you comfortable working in fast-paced environment with a wide range of responsibilities and enquiries? Do you want to go home feeling like you are making a real difference to older people’s lives?

You will be joining as key member of our dedicated management team – acting as a first point of contact for all enquiries and visitors to the Home and implementing initiatives to generate customer enquiriesin order tomaximise revenue. In this varied role, you will undertake a variety of general administration tasks such as involvement with invoicing, ordering supplies and booking training.

Supporting the wider team, you will plan events within the care home to engage the local community and support the activities team with administrative-based activities for the residents. You will actively manage and support the move in and out of residents and ensure that all available bedroomsare to “showroom standard” at all times. One thing is forsure,no two days will be the same!

Our ideal candidate will…

  • Have a good standard of general education and will hold a minimum of GCSE Maths and English.

  • Be experienced in providing efficient administrative support ina timelyand confidential manner.

  • Be comfortable working to financial and HR policies and procedures.

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 software, including Outlook,Wordand Excel in addition to staffing and financial systems.

  • Hold either AAT or NVQ Level 2 in Administration (desirable).

  • Have experience in successfully promoting services for residential/nursing homes for older people or within a charity (desirable).

  • Be knowledgeable onthe principles in sales and marketing
