Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is hiring for a Freight Safety & Securing Operative to work on-site at the Eurotunnel terminal, supporting vehicles and passengers around a 24/7 shift pattern. You will secure vehicles, perform safety checks, and assist customers while collaborating with a safety-critical team.

We look for dependable, calm individuals with strong customer service and safety awareness who can handle high-traffic environments and follow strict procedures. Driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
• Confident verbal and written communication.
• Physical fitness for manual tasks and on-your-feet work.
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Full UK driving licence (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Vehicle securing: apply and remove wheel chocks to HGVs boarding the shuttle.
• Safety inspections: conduct pre- and post-journey checks on freight vehicles and trains.
• Customer support: greet drivers and passengers, provide clear instructions, and assist with their journey.
