Job summary

New Appointments Group is seeking a motivated Business Development Manager for an established logistics organisation in Folkestone to drive commercial growth, develop new business opportunities and build profitable, long-term customer relationships.

You will work closely with the operations team to identify and convert new customers, manage opportunities across road, sea, air, courier, warehousing and customs, and travel regularly to meet prospects and clients while maintaining strong margins

Qualifications

Experience in sales or business development within logistics is essential.
Strong track record in Air/Sea/Road freight sales.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Commercially driven with strong analytical abilities.
Detail-oriented, accountable and IT literate.

Responsibilities

Drive business growth by sourcing and converting new, regular and profitable freight forwarding customers.
Identify new clients, markets and opportunities across road, sea, air, courier, warehousing and customs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, providing a tailored and personable service.
Work closely with operations to ensure effective account management and service delivery.
Ensure clear and profitable margins across accounts and jobs, maximising commercial opportunities.
Travel regularly to meet with prospective and existing customers.
