Job summary

Pertemps Bond is recruiting an experienced Freight Forwarder in Warrington, offering a permanent role with a Monday to Friday 09:00–17:00 schedule. The position involves coordinating international and domestic shipments, handling air/sea/road freight, and ensuring accurate shipping and customs documentation to meet import/export regulations.

The ideal candidate will have freight forwarding experience, be adept at managing EU cross-trade shipments and liaising with UK and EU customers, plus ADR

Qualifications

• Previous experience within freight forwarding is essential.
• Experience in managing EU cross-trade shipments.
• Experience working with customers across the UK and EU.
• Knowledge and experience of handling ADR goods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate international and domestic shipments.
• Manage freight movements by air, sea and road.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure processes are followed.
• Prepare and process all shipping and customs documentation.
• Ensure shipments comply with import/export and customs regulations.
• Obtain freight quotations and provide competitive pricing.
• Resolve issues or delays promptly.
• Arrange collections, deliveries and onward transportation.
• Support customs clearance procedures with relevant departments.
• Raise invoices and ensure charges are recorded.
• Maintain accurate records and update internal systems.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.

Role: Freight Forwarder
Pay: Up to 35k per annum (DOE)

Duties of a Freight Forwarder

• Coordinating international and domestic shipments
• Managing freight movements by air, sea and road
• Liaising with customers and suppliers to ensure smooth processes are being followed
• Preparing and processing all relevant shipping and customs documentation.
• Ensuring shipments comply with current import, export and customs regulations.
• Obtaining freight quotations and providing customers with competitive pricing.
• Resolving any issues or delays that may arise
• Arranging collections, deliveries and onward transportation.
• Managing customs clearance procedures and working closely with relevant departments
• Raising invoices and ensuring all relevant charges are accurately recorded.
• Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
