Job summary

Zoe is seeking a Business Development Manager for its North Yorkshire office to drive freight forwarding sales and new business development. The role centers on cold calling, face-to-face visits and securing bookings in a dynamic logistics environment.

You will negotiate rates with air, road and sea freight suppliers, prepare quotations, and nurture relationships with new and existing clients while reporting sales performance to senior management.

Qualifications

• Proven B2B sales experience in freight/logistics.
• Freight industry experience preferred.
• Cold calling experience with a successful track record.
• Excellent customer service and client management skills.
• Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business via cold calls and face-to-face visits.
• Negotiate with air, road and sea freight suppliers to obtain competitive rates and quotes.
• Follow up and secure bookings and generate quotations.
• Build and nurture relationships with new and existing clients.
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations to service client needs and pass on instructions.
• Record, report and present sales data to senior management.
