Job summary

We are hiring a Freelance Site Manager for a commercial college refurbishment in Barrow-in-Furness, working from Saturday 24th October through Sunday 1st November. The project involves converting 1 room into 3 offices with partitions, flooring and ceilings.

Key duties include reporting to the Project Manager, on-site coordination with subcontractors, and maintaining H&S standards. Travel within the UK and on-site presence are required for this long-term assignment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Manager in commercial settings (offices, schools, colleges, universities).
• CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid, Asbestos Awareness, Fire Marshal certifications.
• Minimum of 4+ years experience in a Site Manager position.
• UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Project Manager and senior management team.
• Oversee subcontractors and contractors on-site.
• Maintain H&S standards and ensure followed by contractors and subcontractors.
• Monitor site progress and ensure compliance with health & safety standards.
• Coordinate with design teams, consultants, and client representatives.
• Liaise with client regularly.
• Support commissioning and final handovers.
