Job summary

Blue Forest in Surrey/SW London is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead a luxury timber-frame project from ground to handover. You will coordinate contractors, manage deliveries, oversee health and safety, and keep the programme on track on a high-end residential build.

The role is a six-month freelance contract with a Monday to Friday schedule, starting 19 October 2026, with a negotiable day rate reflecting experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years construction experience across multiple project types

• Experience with landscaping and timber-frame projects
• Proven track record in site management and on-time delivery

Responsibilities

• Act as the main on-site contact for contractors and visitors
• Coordinate subcontractors to ensure works meet programme
• Manage deliveries, materials, site access and unloading
• Carry out site walkarounds, monitor workmanship and progress
• Read and maintain construction drawings and technical information
• Maintain site records, paperwork and programme updates
• Handle on-site design queries and liaise with project team
• Maintain site security, welfare, and housekeeping
• Run site inductions and toolbox talks
• Review RAMS and monitor on-site safety compliance
• Check contractor accreditations, plant, machinery and scaffolding
• Maintain health & safety records and PPE compliance
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Operations Director to resolve issues

Lead a standout luxury build from site to completion

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join a multi-award-winning luxury timber-frame design and build business, taking the lead on the day-to-day management of an exciting project in Surrey / South West London.

This is no ordinary construction environment. You ll be working on a high-end project where quality, attention to detail and exceptional workmanship are every bit as important as keeping the programme on track.

You ll be the key person on site - coordinating contractors, managing deliveries, maintaining high standards of health & safety and ensuring the project progresses safely, efficiently and to programme.

What you'll be doing

• Acting as the main point of contact for contractors, subcontractors and visitors
• Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered to programme
• Managing deliveries, materials, site access and safe unloading
• Carrying out regular site walkarounds and monitoring workmanship and progress
• Reading and maintaining construction drawings and technical information
• Managing site records, paperwork and programme updates
• Handling on-site design queries and liaising with the wider project team
• Maintaining site security, welfare, compound and general housekeeping
• Running site inductions and toolbox talks
• Reviewing RAMS and monitoring compliance on site
• Checking contractor accreditations, plant, machinery and scaffolding
• Maintaining comprehensive health & safety records
• Monitoring PPE requirements and site safety standards
• Working closely with the Project Manager and Operations Director to resolve issues and keep the project moving

What we're looking for

We re looking for a confident, organised and hands-on Site Manager who knows how to take control of a busy construction site and keep things moving.

You ll need:

• 5+ years construction experience, ideally across a range of project types and sizes
• Strong experience within high-end residential construction
• Experience with landscaping and timber-frame projects
• A proven track record in construction/site management
• Excellent organisation and communication skills
• The ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Strong knowledge of health & safety and site documentation
• Experience with procurement and coordinating materials
• A proactive approach to programme management and problem-solving
• Valid SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS Managers Card
