Job summary

Map Talent is recruiting an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major development in Cheltenham. The role covers internal and fit-out packages, with procurement, commercial management and delivery responsibilities as the project advances through its next stages.

The ideal candidate will have a Senior Quantity Surveyor background with main contractor experience, preferably from Tier 1 or Tier 2 firms, and a proven ability to manage complex packages on large-scale developments.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major £80m commercial/technology development in Cheltenham.

The project is well underway, with earthworks and groundworks progressing and the frame currently being erected. As the scheme develops, the successful QS will take responsibility for a number of internal and fit-out packages, managing these through procurement, commercial management and delivery.

We're ideally looking for someone from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor background, with strong experience managing packages on large-scale commercial, technology, industrial or similar developments.

The role:

• Managing a number of internal and fit-out packages
• Subcontract procurement and package management
• Commercial management and cost control
• Valuations, variations, payments and final accounts
• Working closely with the wider commercial and delivery teams
• Supporting the project as it progresses through the next stages

The ideal candidate:

• Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with main contractor experience
• Ideally from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 background
• Strong package management experience, particularly internal/fit-out packages
• Experience working on large, complex commercial developments
• Able to work autonomously while integrating effectively into an established project team
• Available to start ASAP

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major £80m development at a key stage of construction, with the initial requirement expected to be around 6 months but with the potential to develop into a longer-term position.
