Job summary

Fawkes & Reece seeks an experienced Freelance Finishing Manager to support the final stages of a construction project on site in Whitstable. The role is hands-on, delivering high-quality finishes and a smooth handover to the client.

You will oversee finishing trades, coordinate subcontractors, perform snagging inspections, and ensure HSE compliance. Strong communication and experience in fast-paced projects are essential; SMSTS/SSSTS preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Finishing Manager on construction projects.
• Strong eye for detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• SMSTS or SSSTS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all finishing trades including painting, decorating, flooring, carpentry, and snagging.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors to ensure timely completion.
• Carry out detailed snagging inspections and resolve defects promptly.
• Maintain high standards of quality control across finishing works.
• Work with Site Manager and Project Manager to meet deadlines.
• Ensure health & safety regulations are followed on site.
• Assist with final handover and client inspections.
