Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking a Fraud Performance and Controls Lead to drive the design, performance and continuous improvement of our end-to-end Policy Fraud portfolio. You will partner with Underwriting, Analytics and Operations to maximise fraud prevention and profitability while reducing friction for genuine customers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience across insurance fraud, underwriting, financial crime or commercial risk management.
• Strong understanding of fraud controls, referral strategies and operational performance management.
• Experience in leading and delivering measurable commercial outcomes, change and transformation initiatives.
• exceptional stakeholder management with ability to influence senior leaders.
• Strong analytical capability to interpret complex data and convert insights into action.

Responsibilities

• Own the performance of the Policy Fraud portfolio against agreed fraud, commercial and customer measures.
• Drive initiatives to improve loss ratio, referral performance and operational efficiency; report to senior stakeholders.
• Act as senior fraud representative for policy referrals and controls, influencing underwriting strategy.
• Lead end-to-end workflow optimization and standardisation across workstreams.
• Lead reviews of significant fraud and large loss cases; translate lessons into business improvements.
• Identify automation opportunities and support new fraud controls and customer journeys.
