Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking a Risk Pricing Manager to lead a small team and drive profitable pricing for home insurance. The role focuses on analysing diverse data sources, reviewing pricing models, and delivering innovative insights to improve pricing accuracy and profitability.

You will collaborate with actuarial, data science, underwriting and other teams while mentoring analysts and ensuring fair customer outcomes. A hybrid working model and robust benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong general insurance background/knowledge preferable.
• Strong analytical and coding experience; Python preferred.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of analysts to achieve home profit and growth targets.
• Analyse data sources (loss, policy, quote, market) to identify pricing opportunities.
• Develop and deliver new insights, including new data and innovative techniques.
• Collaborate with Actuarial, Data Science, Underwriting, Data Engineering and other teams.
• Review and analyse models produced by actuaries and data scientists to optimize pricing.
• Identify pricing segments where improvements can be made.
• Create and maintain tools to source new pricing leads automatically.
• Represent the home pricing team on underwriting projects to create value.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
• Ensure fair outcomes for customers and align with customer expectations.
