Job summary

Animal Trust (UK) is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to shape financial insight and decision-making for growth across our surgeries and hospitals.

You’ll lead forecasting, performance reporting, and connect operational activity with financial outcomes, moving from spreadsheets to a scalable rolling forecasting platform while partnering with Operations, Technology and external partners to deliver trusted insights.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Strong FP&A, commercial finance or management accounting experience.
• Excellent understanding of P&L drivers and operational performance.
• Experience in forecasting, budgeting, scenario modelling and management reporting. Power BI or similar BI experience.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, with the ability to translate Finance requirements into better systems.
• Confidence communicating insight and constructively challenging stakeholders.
• A practical, commercially curious approach focused on recommendations and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own P&L, capital and cash forecasting processes and move from Excel to a rolling forecasting platform.
• Develop driver-based forecasts linking appointments, capacity, staffing and other operational activity to financial outcomes.
• Coordinate forecast assumptions with budget owners and provide scenarios to support decisions.
• Produce clear site, regional and organisation-wide performance reporting.
• Investigate causes of revenue, activity, productivity and cost movements and identify improvement opportunities.
• Partner with Operations and Capital Projects to track financial and operational impact.
• Own business requirements for forecasting and management information; work with Tech and external data partners to implement tools.
• Work with the Financial Controller to ensure reporting reconciles to trusted actuals.
• Lead adoption of new forecasting and reporting tools across Finance and Operations; reduce manual spreadsheet work and ensure KPI definitions and data quality.
• Assist the Finance Director with P&L forecast inputs for cash and funding planning.
