Job summary

Harvey John is seeking an FP&A Manager in Lewes, East Sussex. The role is hybrid with a minimum of two days in the office and reports to senior leadership to shape investments and growth.

You will lead budgeting, rolling forecasts, and management P&Ls, translating data into actionable recommendations for sales and marketing, with real-time cost tracking and KPI development.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant with FP&A or commercial finance background.
• Strong experience in BI/data visualization and Excel.
• Product-based industry background.

We’re delighted to be partnering with a thriving international business on the appointment of a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager. Our client is looking for a commercially minded finance professional to sit at the heart of the business in a newly created role with significant impact potential.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working side by side with the Commercial and Marketing Directors, the successful candidate will shape where the business invests, how it grows and how it wins business.

Where you’ll make your mark

• Shape strategy, not just report on it. You’ll support, influence and challenge strategic and annual plans, building the fact base that drives growth decisions at the highest level.
• Be the voice in the room with brand owners. Your sales, P&L and profitability analysis will underpin key meetings with international partners, helping make the case for investment and unlock new opportunities.
• Turn data into commercial action. You’ll translate financial performance into creative, practical recommendations that sales and marketing teams can act on, identifying the drivers that really move growth and profitability.
• Transform how the business plans. You’ll own and evolve the budgeting and reforecasting process, moving towards a dynamic rolling forecast that keeps pace with a fast-moving market.
• Bring real-time clarity to cost. You’ll build smarter ways to track costs, giving leaders live visibility of all the business’s most important cost bases.
• Define what success looks like. You’ll create and track KPIs that connect financial results directly to operational and commercial performance.
• Spot the risks and opportunities others miss. You’ll keep the Executive and Management Teams ahead of the curve on what could accelerate, or threaten, their growth ambitions.

Alongside this, you’ll deliver the foundations that make great decisions possible: accurate monthly management P&Ls, sales and cost centre reporting, variance analysis, accruals, recharges and fiscal compliance.

What our client is looking for

• A qualified or part-qualified accountant (or working towards it) with a strong FP&A or commercial finance background. QBE will be considered for strong profiles.
• Experienced using business intelligence and data visualization software, alongside strong Excel and ERP skills
• Product based industry background
• An insatiable curiosity: you’re not satisfied until you know why a number is what it is
• A highly commercially focused mindset and able to translate your findings into actionable recommendations
• The confidence to challenge, the skill to influence, and the ability to build strong relationships with all kinds of personalities
• Pace, resilience and the flexibility to pivot when the business needs you to
