Job summary

Santander UK is seeking a Commercial Analyst based in Milton Keynes to support the central FP&A function in Finance. You will deliver month-end reporting, planning, budgeting and stress-testing, and provide commercial insight for senior management.

The role involves analysing P&L, Balance Sheet and liquidity metrics, developing forward-looking commentary, and driving improvements in reporting and forecasting processes through standardisation and automation.

Qualifications

• Great experience in FP&A, commercial finance, financial performance management or a closely related discipline within banking or financial services.
• Ability to analyse integrated financial performance across the P&L and Balance Sheet and produce forward-looking insight.
• Experience supporting forecasts, budgets, strategic plans and scenario analysis.
• Proven track record of producing concise materials for senior management or governance forums.
• Advanced spreadsheet and financial-modelling skills, with confidence handling large and complex datasets.

Responsibilities

• Analyse monthly and year-to-date performance across the P&L, Balance Sheet, Capital and Liquidity.
• Develop concise commentary that explains what happened, why, implications and actions.
• Identify and quantify emerging risks and opportunities to the plan with timing and dependencies.
• Support rolling forecasts, annual budgets and multi-year plans by reviewing assumptions and scenarios.
• Connect external market, customer, competitor, economic and regulatory developments to the bank's performance.
• Prepare high-quality performance materials for senior governance forums with a clear narrative.
• Collaborate with business and Finance teams to reconcile perspectives and establish a single view of performance.
• Maintain robust data controls, data lineage and review evidence for analysis and reporting.
