Job summary

Terry Parris Associates, on behalf of a well-established engineering manufacturer, is recruiting an Assembly Fitter in Marden, Kent. The role focuses on fitting and assembling mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems within a structured production environment, emphasizing quality and safe build methods.

Core hours are 06:00-16:30, Monday to Thursday, with Friday/Saturday overtime at enhanced rates.

Qualifications

Technical apprenticeship or engineering training with practical assembly experience.
Strong mechanical assembly knowledge; hydraulics/pneumatics/electrics exposure beneficial.
Able to read instructions, work accurately and troubleshoot build issues.

Responsibilities

Fit and assemble fabricated parts and sub-assemblies.
Set up hydraulic and electrical systems, including pressure testing.
Install hydraulic and pneumatic pipework, valves, pumps and motors.
Lay, connect and secure wiring looms and complete basic electrical checks.
Carry out fault diagnosis, dismantling and replacement of defective components.
Fit mechanical fixings, hydraulic adapters, electrical plugs and terminals accurately.
Use air tools, socket sets and other workshop equipment safely.
Support engineering changes and BOM variance activity where required.
Maintain high standards of build quality, housekeeping and safe working.
