Job summary

Advanced Engineering in Luton, Bedfordshire, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Assembly Technician to join its workshop team on a double-day shift. The role involves assembling and disassembling units from engineering drawings, using components and sub-assemblies to tight tolerances.

You will interpret drawings, operate air-powered and electric tools, and use measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Fitter / Assembly Technician.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Comfortable working to high tolerances with various measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble units from engineering drawings using components and sub-assemblies.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to exacting tolerances.
• Produce reports including strip inspection and root cause analysis when required.
• Use air-powered and electric tools safely.

Double day shift, early finish Fridays

Week 1: Mon-Thu 06:00-14:30, Fri 06:00-13:00

Week 2: Mon-Thu 14:00-20:30, Fri 14:00-18:00

£46,000 (including shift allowance)

A leading manufacturer of rotating equipment is actively seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Assembly Technician to join their workshop team on a double-day shift pattern.

Their innovative machinery is used across a wide variety of industries including oil & gas, renewables, nuclear, chemicals, refrigeration, and defence.

This role will involve the assembly and disassembly of units from engineering drawings using various components and sub-assemblies, so an ability to interpret drawings and specifications as well as excellent manual dexterity are all key.

Components range in size and complexity from micro components up to large multi-part fabrications. You will also be required to produce reports including strip inspection and conduct root cause analysis when required.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working to high tolerances, strong problem solving skills, the ability to use a range of measuring equipment and safety operate air powered and electric tools.
