The Head teacher and Governing Body of Llysfaen Primary School seek a dedicated, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant committed to children’s learning and wellbeing to join our successful and happy school (Estyn March 2024).
We are looking for a friendly, committed, and enthusiastic teaching assistant to support teachers and assist children. Experience with primary children and relevant interests/expertise should be highlighted in your application. An NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent is desirable. The candidate should work well in a team, have good interpersonal skills, and establish positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
This position is temporary until July 2026.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
This post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
The salary includes the Living Wage supplement, bringing pay up to £12 per hour (scp 2 - 4). This supplement is reviewed annually in January and April. Cardiff Council reserves the right to modify or remove the supplement.
Internal candidates applying on a secondment basis must obtain approval using Form SEC1 (4.C.081) prior to application. Approvals are granted by the relevant Chief Officer or senior officer graded no lower than OM2, or in schools, the Headteacher / Governing Body.
