Job summary

Yeovil College is seeking a Foundation Learning Lecturer to support learners with SEND and SEMH needs. You will help them build confidence, develop essential skills and progress toward future opportunities in a trauma-informed, person-centred learning environment.

You’ll plan and deliver engaging sessions, adapt resources to individual needs and work closely with Learning Support Practitioners, families and external professionals to track progress, support wellbeing and safeguarding, and ensure

Qualifications

• Experience teaching learners with SEND/SEMH in post-16 or Foundation Learning settings.
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice and ability to build positive relationships.
• Qualified teaching certificate or willingness to work towards one; GCSE English and Maths at grade C or equivalent.
• Ability to create engaging, personalised learning and develop Functional Skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork; resilience to manage challenging situations.
• Passion for inclusive education and safeguarding commitments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Foundation Learning sessions for SEND/SEMH learners.
• Adapt resources to meet individual needs and support Functional Skills development.
• Track progress and maintain learning plans; monitor wellbeing and safeguarding.
• Collaborate with Learning Support Practitioners, families and external professionals.
