Job summary

Yeovil College is seeking a Foundation Learning Lecturer to support learners with SEND and SEMH, helping them build confidence and essential skills for their futures. You will plan inclusive lessons, adapt resources, and collaborate with Learning Support Practitioners, families and external professionals to help learners achieve goals.

You will track progress, maintain learning plans, support wellbeing and safeguarding, and ensure high-quality teaching across the department.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching learners with SEND and/or SEMH needs, ideally in a post-16 or Foundation Learning setting.
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice, with the ability to build positive relationships and support learners to overcome barriers.
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, DTLLS, DEAT or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one, plus GCSE English and Maths at grade C or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inclusive, trauma-informed and person-centred teaching; plan and deliver engaging learning.
• Adapt resources to meet individual needs and work with Learning Support Practitioners, families and external professionals.
• Track progress and maintain learning plans; support wellbeing and safeguarding; ensure high-quality teaching and learning across the department.
