Foundation Head Chef

Bolton

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: 42000

Hours: 40 per week

A private day school in Bolton, Greater Manchester. It comprises a co‑educational nursery, co‑educational infant school, single sex junior schools and single sex senior schools including sixth forms. Catering for 2,850 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of mid‑morning break with full lunch offering including grab & go. There is lots of hospitality offerings at this location. Operating predominantly Monday to Friday with exceptions for events etc on some weekends. There is plenty of free parking in the vicinity of the school.

We are looking for a talented Foundation Head Chef to join our team at one of our prestigious locations in Bolton.

You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients & regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work well in a large team, overseeing all food services and hospitality across the foundation (8 service / prep areas, 60 staff).
  • Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
  • Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
  • Ensuring cost control across the foundation to successfully deliver the standard to budget.
  • Line Manage Senior Chefs and Supervisors to ensure consistent food standards and service.
  • Ensure hospitality & events are planned and delivered to high standards, meeting time and budgetary requirements.
  • Develop and maintain recipe and cost control systems to ensure consistency in delivery across all areas.
  • Create and manage seasonal menus that showcase a fresh food approach.

Knowledge / competencies
  • Ability to demonstrate good understanding and use of verbal English.

  • Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is essential.
