Job summary

Tripod Partners is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Fostering team in Wiltshire. You will manage a complex caseload, undertake fostering assessments, and support foster carers to promote safe, stable placements for looked-after children.

Join a dedicated Family Placement Team delivering safeguarding, assessments, and multi‑agency collaboration with a focus on positive outcomes for children and families.

Qualifications

• Experience with children, families and carers in complex circumstances.
• Excellent safeguarding knowledge and practice.
• Ability to manage a demanding caseload effectively.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills.
• Experience working within multi-agency environments.
• A child-centred and relationship-based approach.
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload within the Family Placement Team.
• Undertake fostering, kinship and connected persons assessments.
• Provide ongoing supervision, support and guidance to foster carers and other carers.
• Identify and match appropriate placements to meet children's individual needs.
• Support placement stability and respond effectively to placement challenges.
• Contribute to development, training and retention of foster carers.
• Act as lead social worker for children in need and children in care.
• Prepare high‑quality reports for child protection conferences and reviews.
• Work collaboratively with children, families, carers and multi‑agency professionals.
