Job summary

Caritas Recruitment Limited is seeking a qualified Children’s Social Worker to join a dedicated Fostering Team across the local area. You will work with prospective and approved foster carers, children in care and their networks, providing high-quality social work throughout the fostering journey to promote safety and stability.

You will complete fostering assessments, produce clear reports, undertake statutory visits and reviews, and supervise and support foster carers.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Experience working with children, young people and families, ideally in fostering or looked-after children or child protection.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, attachment, trauma-informed practice and relevant fostering legislation.
• Strong assessment, report-writing, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to equality, inclusion and reflective practice.
• Valid driving licence and ability to travel for visits/meetings.

Responsibilities

• Complete fostering assessments and produce clear, analytical reports.
• Undertake statutory visits and reviews and provide ongoing supervision and support to foster carers.
• Contribute to care planning, placement stability and safeguarding arrangements.
• Collaborate with children’s services, education, health and partner agencies; attend meetings and panels.
• Maintain accurate, timely case recording in line with legislation, regulations, policies and standards.
