Job summary

VGC Group seeks Formwork Carpenters for a major infrastructure project in Plymouth. 4 years+ commitment, 10-hour shifts, full-time contract starting February 2027 subject to BPSS vetting. You will join a large team on a high‑profile site with lodge and travel allowances available.

31 days holiday, pension, and ongoing upskilling support are provided. Candidate should have CSCS Blue NVQ Level 2 Formwork and substantial civils experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in major civils or RC frames.
• CSCS Blue NVQ Level 2 Formwork required.
• Safety critical medical certification (arranged if needed).

Responsibilities

• Construct and install formwork on civils/RC frame projects.
• Ensure site safety and compliance with project specifications.
• Assist with on-site quality, measurements and handover readiness.

VGC Group are seeking Formwork Carpenters to join a great team on a Major Infrastructure Project in Devonport, Plymouth. This contract is available to start in Q1 of 2027 subject to BPSS Vetting.

£24.26 per hour, 1.5 x rate after 39 hours in a week, 1.5 x rate first 4 hours on a saturday, 2 x rate rest of the weekend.

Subsistence

• Lodge available at £53.69 per night for anyone living over 50 miles from site.
• Daily Travel allowance available for any operative not on lodge commuting more than 9 miles (in line with CIJC)

Experience

3 years + in Major Civils or RC Frames

Quals

• CSCS Blue NVQ Level 2 Formwork
• Previous Civil Engineering Experience
• Safety Critical Medical (Can be arranged for you)

You must provide proof of right to work in UK and pass a drugs and alcohol test upon induction.
