Job summary

VGC Group are seeking Steel Fixers to join a major infrastructure project in Plymouth. You will work on site in Devonport with a full-time contract, earning £24.26 per hour and enhanced rates for overtime and weekends.

Shifts are 10 hours long across a four-year+ programme, with lodge and travel allowances available where applicable. Required: CSCS Blue NVQ Level 2 Steelfixing, 3+ years in major civils/RC frames, and a safety critical medical (arranged if needed).

Steel Fixers - Plymouth, Devonport - PL1 4SG

VGC Group are seeking Steel Fixers to join a great team on a Major Infrastructure Project in Devonport, Plymouth. This contract is available to start in Jan/Feb of 2027 subject to BPSS Vetting.

Role: Steel Fixer

Location: Plymouth

Salary: £24.26per hour, 1.5 x rate after 39 hours in a week, 1.5 x rate first 4 hours on a saturday, 2 x rate rest of the weekend.

Hours: 10 hour Shifts

Shift Pattern: (phone number removed) shifts starting in February 2027

Contract: Full time

Duration: 4 years +

Benefits: 31 days holiday per year, training and upskilling provided if relevant to role, pension, £3 a day brief allowance

Subsistence:

• Lodge available at £53.69 per night for anyone living over 50 miles from site.
• Daily Travel allowance available for any operative not on lodge commuting more than 9 miles (in line with CIJC)

Experience: 3 years + in Major Civils or RC Frames

Quals:

• CSCS Blue NVQ Level 2 Steelfixing
• Previous Civil Engineering Experience
• Safety Critical Medical (Can be arranged for you)

You must provide proof of right to work in UK and pass a drugs and alcohol test upon induction.
