Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley, UK seeks a placement student to support the planning and programme department. You will work across engineering, data, and finance to improve planning, visibility and delivery of test programmes in a high-performance F1 environment.

You will help develop tools, dashboards, and reporting solutions, gaining experience in programme engineering, operational management, data analysis, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering Management, Business Engineering, Manufacturing, Data Science or related discipline.
• Placement year is a required part of the degree programme.
• At least one year of study must remain after the placement.
• Desirable: SQL or database concepts; Power BI; Excel; CAD and engineering drawing awareness.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support delivery of engineering test programmes and ensure readiness of parts, resources and facilities across departments.
• Develop dashboards, reports, planning tools and automation to improve visibility and efficiency.
• Analyse programme data to identify risks, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities; support cost reduction and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Planning and Test teams to resolve issues and ensure programme delivery.
• Maintain project documents, action trackers and performance metrics; support reviews and stakeholder communications.
• Assist Cost Analysis and Finance with cost cap activities including data quality improvements and process optimisation.
