JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Forklift Truck Service Engineer to join a well-established team covering Norwich and East Anglia. The role combines workshop and field work, servicing electric, LPG and diesel forklifts for a diverse range of customers.

You will diagnose faults, perform routine servicing, and maintain detailed service records while working largely independently on customer sites. A valid driving licence and hands-on forklift experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical and mechanical repair of heavy equipment such as forklifts.

• Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance.

Job description

This permanent, full-time position suits an experienced Forklift Truck Service Engineer seeking work across Norwich and East Anglia.

Based partly in the workshop and partly in the field, the successful candidate will service, repair and maintain electric, LPG and diesel forklift trucks for customers throughout the region.

Applicants should be confident diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, carrying out routine servicing, and working independently on customer sites.

The salary is £30,000 to £35,000, accompanied by a company van, pension, annual leave and on-site parking.

The employer supplies and maintains new and used forklift trucks and has operated from Snetterton, Norfolk, for over three decades, building its reputation on strong customer service.

They are now looking to hire an experienced Forklift Truck Service Engineer to support their Customers across East Anglia.

As an experienced Fork Truck Service Engineer, you would be responsible for repair, service and maintenance of electric, LPG and diesel forklifts.

You would be required to not only be Workshop based but also field based supporting their clients.

Successful candidates must have a current driving licence, and although a van will be supplied, minimum age of 25 years due to Insurance requirements.

It is also essential that the successful candidate has experience of working on forklift trucks or similar vehicles.

Duties

• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues on forklift trucks.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify components as needed
• Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and compliance documentation for each piece of equipment serviced
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and advising clients on maintenance best practices

Requirements

• Proven experience in electrical and mechanical repair of heavy equipment such as forklifts.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
• Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, equipment repair, and troubleshooting machinery
• Experience working with electrical systems including wiring diagrams
• Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Relevant certifications in forklift operation or equipment repair are preferred but not mandatory; however, hands-on experience is essential
