Job summary

Interaction Technical is seeking a Field Service Engineer / Forklift Mechanic to diagnose faults, service equipment and perform emergency repairs at customer sites across the Essex area. You will travel to sites, work on engines, batteries, pneumatics and hydraulics, and provide reliable service to forklift and plant machinery.

The role requires hands-on electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, with experience in forklifts or related industries and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics; essential.
• Electrical and/or mechanical fault finding, repair & service experience advantageous.
• Experience in forklift, plant, HGV and/or agricultural industries advantageous.
• Experience with engines and batteries advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, service and carry out emergency repairs and breakdowns on forklift and plant machinery.
• Collaborate with customers on lifting and handling products.
• Work independently on customer sites and coordinate with colleagues to offer solutions.
• Travel to sites to perform repairs and create effective solutions.
• Work on engines, batteries, pneumatics and hydraulics, plus mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs.

Salary: £40,000-£50,000 DOE

Hours: 07:00-17:00 Monday to Thursday, 16.00 finish Friday (49 hour week)

The Company

Interaction Technical have partnered with an expanding family-owned business operating within the forklift supplier and repair industry on their search for an experienced field service engineer / forklift mechanic to join their growing team. Our client has been established for nearly 50 years and are now at a stage of growth where they are looking to add an engineer to the team. If you are an experienced field service engineer / forklift mechanic looking for a new opportunity in and around the Essex area.

The Package

• Salary between £40,000-£50,000 salary dependent of experience

The Role

• Accurately diagnosing faults, servicing and carrying out emergency repairs/breakdowns on forklift and plant machinery.
• Collaborate with customers surrounding the lifting and handling products.
• The ability to work independently within the customer sites and collaborate with colleagues to ensure documentation and the perfect solution is offered.
• Actively travelling to sites and carrying out repairs of the equipment and creating solutions.
• Working on engines, batteries, pneumatics and hydraulics, alongside mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs.

The Requirements

• Previous experience working with pneumatics and hydraulics, alongside mechanical and electrical capabilities (essential)
• Electrical and/or Mechanical fault finding, repair & service experience (advantageous)
• Previous experience working in the Forklift, Plant, HGV and/or Agricultural industries (advantageous)
• Experience working with engines and batteries (advantageous)
• Relevant qualifications NVQ or City and Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous)
• Full UK Drivers License
