Job summary

Forged Solutions Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled press operator to join a multi-skilled Forge Crew. You will perform pre-shift checks, operate the 5600T press, manage furnaces and forge systems, and support tooling builds within the cell.

The role requires flexibility to work across different roles and shifts, familiarity with MS Office or control systems, and experience in a medium to heavy factory environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Pre-shift checks (FLT, Hoist, Crane, etc.) as specified.
• Operate 5600T press and support roles within the cell.
• Control room responsibilities (furnace and forge management).
• Pyrometry checks and dimensional / visual forgings inspections.
• Build dies and tooling for 5600T and 1500T presses.
• Ensure furnaces are loaded correctly with control plans.
• Training to be given on 900T and 3000T presses.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S duties.
• Adhere to Health & Safety procedures and quality standards.

Job Summary

Working as part of a multi-skilled Forge Crew.

Key Objectives of the Role

• H&S – Work in a safe and responsible manner and within FSG procedures. (For own and other people’s safety)
• Ensure ALL Quality procedures and processes are followed.
• Pre-shift checks as specified; for example: FLT, Hoist, Crane, etc.;
• Housekeeping (5s duties).
• Conduct preventative maintenance checks.
• Operate 5600T press and supporting roles within the cell which include:
  • 1, Operating the Andromat;
  • 2, Control room (furnace and forge management);
  • 3, Pyrometry checks;
  • 4, Carry out visual and dimensional checks on forgings and hard mark with identification;
  • 5, Working 1500T knockdown / trim and punch operations;
  • 6, Building dies and tooling for 5600T and 1500T presses;
  • 7, Ensure furnaces are loaded correctly with control plans completed;
  • Training also to be given the 900T and 3000T presses.
