Job summary

Solid Stampings Ltd in Cradley Heath is seeking an experienced General Operator to join the team for a temporary, full-time role (36 hours over 4 days).

You will operate forging equipment, assist in dies setup, forklift driving, and perform packing and general duties; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experienced General Operator for manufacturing environment.
• Willing to undertake training on relevant equipment.
• Capable of handling furnace loading/unloading and general duties.

Responsibilities

• Forge, clip, and punch as part of a team.
• Load and unload furnaces.
• Set dies and tooling on Covmac upset forging machines, forging hammers, and power presses.
• Cold punching components.
• Straightening components.
• Monitor forging runs for faults and inform supervision.
• Record work bookings on Visual system.
• Operate Fork Lift Truck.
• Carry out packing, saw cutting and general maintenance.
• Undertake role-specific training.

Forge General Operator (Full Time 36 hours - 4 days per week) (Temporary)

Solid Stampings Ltd, Cradley Heath, would like to recruit an experienced General Operator.

Solid Stampings is closely associated with The Solid Swivel Company Ltd. which was established in 1910 and has a long history of manufacturing quality engineered products here in the midlands and is a renowned local employer.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Working as part of a team forging, clipping, punching.
• Furnace loading and unloading.
• Assist in setting dies and tooling on: Covmac upset forging machines; Forging hammers; Power Presses.
• Cold Punching components.
• Straightening components.
• Maintain periodic checks during forging runs for mismatch and other faults.
• Inform supervision or quality inspector of any equipment or quality issues.
• Work bookings onto Visual system as required.
• Fork Lift Truck Driving.
• General duties include: Packing, saw cutting and general maintenance.
• Undertake training as required to fulfil the role of General Operator.

Specific training on our products and equipment will be provided as required for the role.

Hourly Rate - Dependent upon knowledge and experience.
