Job summary

The Best Connection Group Limited is seeking reliable Foundry Operatives to join a skilled production environment in Billingham. You will support the manufacture of high-quality castings while upholding safety, quality and housekeeping standards.

Work is on a three-shift pattern (06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00, 22:00-06:00, Monday to Friday) with rates at £15.79 per hour, rising to £27.08 with overtime. Emphasis on accuracy, teamwork and adherence to procedures in a busy foundry setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or factory environment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Pour molten metal into spinning dies following procedures.
• Monitor mould and molten steel temperatures as directed.
• Complete manufacture of castings and safely remove finished castings from dies.
• Prepare refractory materials for use in manufacturing.
• Set up moulds, cups and ladles as instructed by the Chargehand.
• Brush out and spray production moulds to maintain quality.
• Carry out grinding of moulds and tubes as required.
• Stamp tubes for full traceability.
• Take test samples as directed by the Chargehand.
• Safely lift and sling moulds, tubes and containers using overhead cranes.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping and complete Operator PPM activities.
• Work safely and comply with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

We are looking for reliable and hardworking

Foundry Operatives to join our Client's manufacturing team. Working as part of a skilled production environment, you will be responsible for supporting the manufacture of high-quality castings while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping. This will be on a three shift pattern, 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 and 22:00-06:00 Monday to Friday.

• Monday to Friday

Rates:

• £15.79 per hour, up to £27.08 with OT

Key Responsibilities:

• Pouring molten metal into spinning dies in accordance with established procedures.
• Monitor mould and molten steel temperatures as directed by the Chargehand.
• Complete the manufacture of castings and safely remove finished castings from dies using hand tools and appropriate manual handling techniques.
• Prepare refractory materials for use in the manufacturing process.
• Set up moulds, cups and ladles as instructed by the Chargehand prior to tube manufacture.
• Brush out and spray production moulds to maintain quality and production standards.
• Carry out grinding of moulds and tubes as required.
• Stamp tubes accurately to ensure full product traceability.
• Take test samples as directed by the Chargehand.
• Safely lift and sling moulds, tubes and containers using overhead cranes.
• Maintain high standards of

5S housekeeping and complete Operator PPM activities.

• Work safely at all times and comply fully with the company's

health, safety, environmental and quality standards and procedures.

Skills & Experience:

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a

manufacturing or factory environment.

• The ability to follow detailed instructions, processes and procedures accurately.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• A strong understanding of

health & safety, environmental and quality requirements.

• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Pendant crane, lifting and slinging experience would be advantageous.

• Previous

foundry experience would be advantageous.
