Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in Leicester is seeking a Forge Operator to join the dayshift team. You will set and operate machines to produce fasteners to tight tolerances and support in slitting and shot blasting processes.

Experience in hot forging or press brakes is preferred; training on all machines is provided to ensure cross-functional flexibility. A positive attitude to safety and quality is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Previous hot forging or press brake experience preferred.
• Experience on hot press, slitter, and shot blasting required.
• Power press training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate machines to produce fasteners to strict tolerances.
• Support in production areas in the slitting and shot blasting.
• Undertake training on all machines to ensure 100% flexibility in the workplace.
• Use gauges and measuring equipment to ensure product meets specifications.
• Self certify your personal work.
• Keep all computer files and paperwork accurate and up to date.
• Produce SPC charts and records.
• Participate in continuous improvement teams.
• Maintain housekeeping to high standards.
• Adhere to quality procedures.
• Be a fully flexible team member to maximise production and quality.
• Participate in EHS requirements and hazard elimination.

Job Title: Forge Operator

Location: Leicester

Shift: Days Monday - Thursday 6am - 2.30pm; Friday 6am - 11:30. 15-minute paid break and half an hour unpaid break

Hourly Rate: up to £15.85 per hour

The Forge Operator Role:

• Set and operate machines to produce fasteners to strict tolerances
• Supporting in the production areas in the slitting and shot blasting
• Undertake training on all machines to ensure 100% flexibility in the workplace
• Uses gauges and measuring equipment to ensure product meets required specifications
• Self certification of your personal work
• Keep all computer files and manual paperwork accurate and up to date at all times
• Responsible for producing SPC charts and records
• To actively take part in locally focused, or multi-functional continuous improvement teams
• Ensure housekeeping is maintained to the highest standards
• Ensure all quality procedures are adhered to
• Work as fully flexible team member within the Company to maximise levels of production and quality
• To adhere to all company EHS requirements and actively participate in the identification and elimination of hazards.
