Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals Limited is seeking an experienced Foreperson to lead the workshop and yard team at our service centre in the UK. The role focuses on daily yard operations, stock control and ensuring safety standards are met across the team.

You will manage returns, repairs and movements within the yard, coordinating logistics and maintaining equipment according to manufacturer guidance. The post requires leadership of a skilled crew and a strong health & safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience of working in a yard environment.
• Forklift license.
• Desirable–Industry experience.
• Experience in managing a team of people.
• Awareness of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Daily management of workshop and yard staff.
• Organise returns, repairs and management of stock in yard.
• Monitoring all off hired equipment ensuring repairs and damages are recorded accordingly within the company guidelines and Service centre manager is informed.
• Co-ordinating vehicles movements in , out and around the yard.
• Ensuring that the yard and any covered space is kept tidy with “ready for hire “ equipment, “equipment off-hired not checked” and “equipment to be repaired” storedwithin their designated areas
• Ensure the yard complies with Health and Safety standard and the team complies with and follows the relevant procedures.
• Ensure all equipment is repaired and maintained in line with manufacturers guidelines
• Carry out regular stock checks on material to ensure accuracy of the counts of equipment
• Co-ordinate and manage the yard during regular stock takes.

About The Role

Based in a local service centre on a day-day basis you will be required to managethe busy yard and team of yard operatives to ensure that all targets are achieved and customers are satisfied with the Service.

Working alongside colleagues, you will be a great team player and take pride in your workplace and working environment, making sure that high standards are maintained whilst complying with company procedures and processes.Communicating effectively, ensuring that your Line Manager and Customers are kept informed as required.
