Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an experienced Foreperson/Workshop Manager or Supervisor to lead the yard and workshop team at a local service centre. You will manage daily yard operations, coordinate repairs, and ensure equipment is ready for hire, while upholding health and safety standards.

The role requires demonstrable yard experience, a forklift license, and proven ability to lead a team. You will work closely with your line manager to meet targets and deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience of working in a yard environment.
• Forklift license is required.
• Desirable – industry experience in a similar role.
• Experience in managing a team of people.

Responsibilities

• Daily management of workshop and yard staff.
• Organise returns, repairs and stock in yard.
• Monitor off-hired equipment and repairs per guidelines.
• Coordinate vehicle movements in, out and around the yard.
• Keep yard tidy and ensure equipment is ready for hire.
• Ensure yard compliance with Health and Safety standards.
• Ensure all equipment is repaired/maintained per manufacturers guidelines.
• Carry out regular stock checks and co-ordinate stock takes.

About The Role

Based on a local service centre on a day-day basis you will be required to managethe busy yard and team of yard operatives to ensure that all targets are achieved and customers are satisfied with the Service.

Working alongside colleagues, you will be a great team player and take pride in your workplace and working environment, making sure that high standards are maintained whilst complying with company procedures and processes.Communicating effectively, ensuring that your Line Manager and Customers are kept informed as required.

As Foreperson your duties will include;

• Daily management of workshop and yard staff.
• Organise returns, repairs and management of stock in yard
• Monitoring all off hired equipment ensuring all repairs and damages are recorded accordingly within the company guidelines and Service centre manager is informed.
• Co-ordinating vehicles movements in , out and around the yard.
• Ensuring that the yard and any covered space is kept tidy with "ready for hire " equipment, "equipment off-hired not checked" and "equipment to be repaired" storedwithintheir designated areas
• Ensure the yard complies with Health and Safety standard and the team complies with and follows the relevant procedures.
• Ensure all equipment is repaired and maintained in line with manufacturers guidelines
• Carry out regular stock checks on material to ensure accuracy of the counts of equipment
• Co-ordinate and manage the yard during regular stock takes.
