Job summary

Redditch Borough Council is recruiting an Environmental Services Coordinator to support the new food waste service across Bromsgrove and Redditch. You will lead day-to-day delivery and coordinate frontline teams to ensure reliable collections.

We are looking for someone with supervisory experience in waste services, strong communication and organisational skills, and a commitment to high customer service standards. This is a permanent role, 37 hours per week, with flexibility across depots.

Qualifications

• Full Class 2 (Category C) HGV driving licence.
• Driver CPC qualification card and digital tachograph card.
• Knowledge of tachograph regulations and operation.
• Be confident managing day-to-day operational issues within a busy frontline service.
• Be able to work flexibly across both Bromsgrove and Redditch depots.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and continuous service improvement.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices and how these apply to the role and service area.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery of food waste collection services across Bromsgrove and Redditch.
• Manage frontline operational staff including support officers, drivers and management.
• Ensure effective delivery of a busy frontline service while maintaining high customer service standards.
• Work with operational staff to support performance monitoring and planning.
• Maintain service standards and respond to issues under pressure.
