Job summary

Reepham High School and College is seeking a dedicated Food Technician for its Food Technology department to ensure teaching kitchens and equipment operate to a professional standard. You will prepare the food room for lessons, demonstrations and investigations, supply ingredients, and manage stock while ensuring hygiene and safety throughout activities.

You will provide technical guidance to pupils, support GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition, and contribute to safeguarding compliance.

• Deliver 2.5 hours of KS5 enrichment sessions at instructor rate (Cooking on a Budget).

Reepham High School and College is located 14 miles North-West of Norwich.

We are looking for a skilled Technician for our Food Technology department, who will ensure our teaching kitchens and equipment operate at a professional standard, providing the foundation for our pupils to succeed. As our Food Technician, you will support by ensuring that the food room is prepared for lessons, food demonstrations and science investigations. From preparing ingredients for introductory sessions to supporting the complex requirements of GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition, your support will ensure that every lesson is safe, organised, and inspiring. You will manage the procurement of fresh ingredients ensuring value for money, maintain an accurate inventory of stock, and ensure all equipment is ready for teacher demonstrations and student practicals. You will provide technical guidance to students, helping them master cooking techniques and maintain high standards of hygiene. Safety and compliance are central to this role; you will ensure all activities meet CLEAPSS and Food Standards Agency guidelines, manage cleaning schedules, and monitor food storage to ensure a safe, professional workspace. There is also the opportunity to deliver 2.5 hours of KS5 (College Students) Enrichment lessons at Instructor Rate delivering ‘Cooking on a Budget’.
