Job summary

Class Act Teaching Services is seeking a Food Technician for a secondary school in Witney to support practical Food Technology lessons and maintain kitchen facilities. The role is long-term, temporary and part-time, with a start in October 2026.

The ideal candidate will have food preparation experience, a Food Hygiene qualification (advantageous), and strong organisational and teamwork skills to work well within a school environment. Safeguarding responsibilities and compliance are emphasised.

  • Food Hygiene qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing ingredients, materials, and equipment for practical lessons.
  • Supporting the delivery of Food Technology lessons.
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment and ordering supplies.
  • Ensuring health, safety, and food hygiene regulations are followed.
  • Assisting teaching staff with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
  • Supporting students during practical activities where appropriate.

Food Technician - Long-term temporary and ongoing, part-time, starting October 2026

Duties as a Food Technician:
  • Preparing ingredients, materials, and equipment for practical lessons
  • Supporting the delivery of Food Technology lessons
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment and ensuring resources are readily available
  • Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies when required
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
  • Cleaning and maintaining food preparation areas
  • Assisting teaching staff with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Supporting students during practical activities where appropriate
Ideal Food Technician:
  • Previous experience in a food preparation, catering, or technician role is desirable
  • Food Hygiene qualification is advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene procedures
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
