Job summary

Aspire People Limited is seeking a Food Technology Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Cardiff on a full-time basis, with potential for permanent appointment. The role is ideal for someone with a passion for Food Technology, Catering, Hospitality or Education who enjoys helping pupils in a practical learning setting.

Key duties include supporting students during lessons, assisting with cooking activities, aiding the Food Technology teacher, and providing one-to-one or small-group

Qualifications

• Experience or qualifications in Food Technology, Catering or Hospitality is desirable.
• Practical cooking or food preparation experience is desirable.
• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Patient, supportive and positive approach.
• Strong safeguarding and pupil wellbeing awareness.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a school team.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students during Food Technology lessons.
• Assisting with practical cooking and food preparation activities.
• Supporting the Food Technology teacher with classroom activities.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required.
• Helping maintain a safe, clean and organised practical classroom.
• Encouraging students to develop confidence and practical skills.
