Job summary

Senploy is recruiting on behalf of a specialist educational setting in Oxfordshire for a dedicated Food Technology Teacher.

The role is full-time with an immediate start, offering a temp-to-perm opportunity. You will deliver engaging Food Technology lessons to students with ASC and SEMH needs, developing practical cooking and nutrition skills while promoting independence and life skills. QTS is not essential but advantageous.

Qualifications

• Deliver engaging Food Technology lessons to students with ASC and SEMH needs.
• Develop students' practical cooking, nutrition, and food preparation skills.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.
• Promote independence, confidence, and everyday life skills.
• Ensure safe working practices within the food technology environment.
• Monitor and assess student progress.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Previous Food Technology teaching experience is highly desirable.
• QTS is not essential, although it would be advantageous.
• Experience working with students with SEND, ASC, or SEMH needs is desirable.
• Strong practical Food Technology knowledge and skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate learners with diverse needs.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
