Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Assistant at Royal Stoke Hospital to prepare and serve nutritious meals that support patient recovery. You’ll help maintain a clean kitchen and dining areas while delivering friendly customer service.

The role is 7.5 hours per week across early to late shifts, with uniform provided and benefits. Join a team committed to high food safety, quality, and patient wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation, catering, hospitality, or retail environments.
• Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills.
• Level 2 Food Safety qualification desirable.
• Good literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and retail products in line with company standards, ensuring quality and consistency at all times.
• Deliver excellent customer service, promoting products and supporting sales growth through positive guest interactions.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, allergen awareness, stock rotation, and storage procedures to minimise waste and ensure compliance.
• Operate tills accurately, process transactions, and ensure all revenue is correctly recorded and accounted for.
• Support a safe, clean, and professional working environment by adhering to hygiene standards, training requirements, and company policies.
