Job summary

Sodexo at Royal Stoke Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Domestic Cleaner to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors. You will clean patient rooms, wards, rest areas and toilets, strip and launder used linen, and replenish supplies with a focus on infection control and safety.

Part-time role, 15 hours per week, weekend days and late shifts 16:00–19:00. £12.90–£13.14 per hour with pro rata holidays and Sodexo benefits including access to mental

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital cleaning preferred.
• Infection control and safety awareness is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, wards, communal spaces and toilets.
• Strip and clean beds and collect used linen for processing.
• Clean surfaces, desks, ceilings and walls to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Daily tasks: dusting, mopping, vacuuming and replenishing supplies.
• Empty waste and manage refuse according to hospital protocols.

What you'll do:

• Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, wards, communal spaces, restrooms, and other hospital areas
• Strip and clean beds, collect used linen for processing
• Clean surfaces, including desks, ceilings, vents, blinds, and walls, to maintain a hygienic environment
• Perform daily tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, floor polishing, and replenishing supplies
• Empty waste bins and manage refuse in line with hospital protocols
• Promote and maintain a safe, healthy environment for all patients, staff, and visitors
